Allied Music Therapy was established by Matt Lewin in 2019. What began as Matt’s solo practice has since grown into a team of registered music therapists working across a wide range of settings, including palliative care, ICU, mental health, aged care, disability, and community rehabilitation. Together, the team is committed to providing innovative, evidence-based music therapy services that support people of all ages and abilities. Matt has presented nationally and internationally on developing creative and person-centred approaches to the field of music therapy.
Aged care
We provide both group and individual music therapy programs within residential aged care settings. Our team works closely with lifestyle staff to design and deliver evidence-based support across a range of areas, including palliative care, memory support, relaxation, and overall wellbeing. We currently partner with leading aged care providers such as Estia Health, Bolton Clarke, and Uniting AgeWell to bring the benefits of music therapy to their residents.
One-to-one music therapy sessions
We provide face to face music therapy services in Melbourne's South East and the Mornington Peninsula.
We work with both adults and children, to support their wellbeing.
Telehealth sessions
We offer a specialised Telehealth service to support ongoing music therapy nationally.
Soul Food Workshop for Workplaces:
Boost Team Wellbeing Through Music and Food
The Soul Food Workshop is a fun, interactive, and evidence-based experience designed to enhance workplace wellbeing, team connection, and mental health through two of life’s simplest pleasures — music and food.In this engaging session, employees participate in hands-on activities that use music to calm the mind and food to spark conversation, creativity, and collaboration. Together, these experiences help teams explore simple, practical ways to support their mental health, manage stress, and foster a more positive, connected workplace culture. While not a therapy session, all content is grounded in scientific research from music therapy and nutrition science, ensuring a balanced approach to both wellbeing and performance. Each participant receives practical take-home resources to encourage healthy habits and ongoing wellbeing beyond the workshop.Soul Food can be tailored for corporate wellness programs, team development days, leadership retreats, and staff wellbeing initiatives — creating a memorable and meaningful experience that supports both individual and organisational health.Facilitators
